The Vallby Open Air Museum was founed in 1921 to present a picture of life in the Väastmanlansd county.
The museum features a couple of exhibits that represent the county through time. For example you can see an eigheenth century farmstead, a soldier cottage, rhe grand residence of a copperworks owner and much more.
The museum strives to recreate and show historical enviroments as completely an authentically as possible. You can see how the people lived, how they kept animals an hopw the gardens and the fields looked like.
The Vallby museums animals and plants are part of the museums effort to preserve Sweden's biological heritage - a kind of live exhibit that includes rural animal breeds, as well as endangered plant species, such as older grain types, rare decorative plants, and certain fruit tree species.
