Mooses
The moose, or the elk as its called in Europe, is Swedens national animal and is reffered to as "The king of the forest".
The huge brown animal is mostly recognised by the big antlers.
On average, an adult moose stands 1.8–2.1 m (6–7 ft) high at the shoulder. Males weigh 380–720 kg (850–1180 pounds) and females weigh 270–360 kg (600–800 pounds).
Female moose have an eight month gestation period. Most litters consist of a single calf; however, twins are not uncommon and triplets are known to occur. The young will stay with the mother until the next young are born.
In Sweden you can attend to special elksafaries deep in the woods. If you're attending one of thoose, you will probably encounter the famous moose.
