Taxinge

Taxinge, is an assembly and ex municipality in Nykvarn municipality, located between Södertälje and Strängnäs in Sörmland. The small village Nygård with only 155 inhabitants is located in Taxinge.

By the year 1952 Taxinge was its own municipality. Following that was incorporated into the city of Mariefred. In 1971 the area was transferred to Södertälje. Since Nykvarn broke out of Södertälje municipality in 1999, the former municipal area now belongs to the Nykvarn municipality.

Taxinge includes Taxinge church, Taxinge-Näsby castle and Taxinge restaurant for example.
