Sweden is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Sweden has land borders with Norway and Finland and is connected to Denmark by a bridge called the Oresundsbron. Sweden has been a member of the European Union (EU) since 1995. The capital of Sweden is Stockholm.
The language spoken in Sweden is Swedish, which is quite similar to both Norwegian and Danish.

Sweden is divided into 25 provinces, based on culture, geography and history. While these provinces serve no political or administrative purpose, they are common in everyday language. The provinces are usually grouped together in three large parts, Norrland, Svealand and Gotaland.
The largest islands of Sweden are called Gotland and Oland.

The nature in Sweden is very rich and beautiful. There are large number of lakes and forests, and it's very good for fishing.
Sweden has an extraordinary wildlife and animals you can barely see anywhere else in the world.

In the winter there is an Ice Hotel rebuilt every year near the town Kiruna in the northern of Sweden. Kiruna is also a great place to see the Northern lights! In the winter tourists can take part in trips with reindeer sleights or dog sleights. There are lots of possibilities to ski in the winter in Sweden. Some popular ski resorts are Are and Salen.
