Stockholm

Stockholm is the largest city and capital of Sweden. It is the site of the national Swedish government, the parliament, and the official residence of the Swedish monarch.

Stockholm has been the political and economic centre of Sweden since the 13th century. Today Stockholm Municipality is the largest of the municipalities of Sweden, with a population of 795,163, and Stockholm urban area with a population of 1,252,020 is Sweden's largest continuously built-up area. The metropolitan area of Stockholm has a population of 1,949,516. Its strategic location on several islands on the east coast of Sweden at the mouth of Lake Mälaren, by the Stockholm archipelago, has been historically important.  

The Vasa museum

The Vasa museum is a maritime museum in Stockholm, Sweden. It's located on the island of Djurgården.

The museum displays the only almost fully intact 17th century ship that has ever been salvaged, the 64 gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628.

 So far Vasa has been seen by over 25 million people.

Stockholm City Hall

Stockholm City Hall is the building of the Municipal Council for the city of Stockholm in Sweden.

It stands on the eastern tip of Kungsholmen island.

 It houses offices and conference rooms as well as ceremonial halls, and the luxury restaurant Stadshuskällaren. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and one of Stockholm's major tourist attractions.

Oldtown

Gamla stan (Old Town), until 1980 officially Staden mellan broarna (The Town between the Bridges), is the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Gamla stan consists primarily of the island Stadsholmen. The surrounding islets Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen, and Strömsborg are officially part of, but not colloquially included in, Gamla stan.
